Product Description
BT-150DS is a 5-axis CNC tool grinder comprising: grinding wheel oscillation axis (X), workpiece feed axis (Y), grinding wheel vertical motion axis (Z), workpiece horizontal rotation axis (B), and grinding wheel inclination axis (C). The machine is purpose-built for the production and regrinding of ultra-hard cutting tools — specifically PCD (polycrystalline diamond), PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride), and carbide inserts — in medium to large batches.
Once centering is complete, a single button press activates the automatic grinding cycle. The system grinds under constant-pressure feed driven by a weight hammer, achieving the ideal "constant-pressure grinding, flexible feed" state that protects brittle super hard materials while delivering consistent stock removal.
Because PCD and CBN materials accelerate wheel wear, the machine integrates an automatic wheel cleaning and re-sharpening system directly on the grinding wheel spindle. The wheel is cleaned and dressed under program control during the grinding cycle, ensuring optimal cutting performance throughout the process. Simultaneously, the CNC system compensates for wheel wear in real time, maintaining long-term dimensional accuracy.
When equipped with an optional 6th CNC axis — the indexing A-axis (BT30 standard interface) — the machine can grind rotary cutting tools as well. The BT30 spindle interface accepts various tool holders and arbors, enabling flexible clamping for a wide range of tool geometries. A dedicated rotary tool grinding software package is included.
